From U-boat sinkings right off Florida’s coast to sprawling military bases, hear how a war a world away changed a small corner of America to one of its most populous states.

*** Esteemed local personality, author and speaker, Eliot Kleinberg was born in South Florida and spent nearly a half-century as a reporter. In addition to covering local news, he wrote extensively about Florida and Florida history, and had two history columns. He has written more than a dozen books, all focusing on Florida. They include, “Black Cloud” on the great 1928 Okeechobee Hurricane, and two “Weird Florida” books.
