Florida East Coast Railway
The Florida East Coast (FEC) Railway, often regarded as the best-maintained railroad in the U.S., dates back to 1885 when Henry Flagler purchased its predecessor and became known for its iconic passenger trains. Although passenger service ended in 1968, the FEC now operates high-speed freight trains between Jacksonville and Miami, while its partner Brightline is reviving modern rail passenger service.
