The Delray Beach Historical Society is thrilled to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Delray Affair and share our history and heritage!
As far back at the 1930’s, the Delray Affair was once known as the “Gladiola Festival,” a celebration of our horticultural and agricultural heritage. Attracting people from around the county, the festival included a parade, a queen and court, regatta races on Lake Ida and a showcase for the local farming and horticultural community. But… the GLADIOLA was the main attraction!
As this year’s EXCLUSIVE festival Gladiola supplier, the Delray Beach Historical Society will be selling special Florida-hardy Gladiola bulbs (corms) in our booth! Plant this perennial flower in your backyard and a piece of Delray’s history will bloom for many years to come! Supplies are limited.
